| Tiivistelmä: | The possibility that firms and regulators achieve cooperative arguments in environmental regulation is explored in this article. It is shown that firms can choose cleaner technologies in exchange for reductions of the fines for non-compliance with environmental standards. Among others results show that the likelihood of bargaining depends negatively on the monitoring costs. |
