| Tiivistelmä: | The prospects for the trade of developing countries in the 1990s are assessed. Those prospects depend, as always in economics, on supply and demand. The supply of tradables of the developing countries will turn largely on their economic policies and their economic growth. The dem and for developing countries' exports will on depend the growth of th e world economy and on the nature of the international trading system. The evolution of the international economy, and the role of industrial and developing countries in it are investigated. Attention is paid on the importance of an open multilateral system for the developing countries, and the likely interaction of supply and demand in determining developing country trade in the coming decade is assessed. |
