| Tiivistelmä: | The expansionary trend of global economic activity has been maintained. In North America the already very strong expansion accelerated further. In Asia economic activity remained strong, albeit with a slight decline in the rate of growth; the recovery in Japan, so far rather precarious in nature, is likely to have stabilised. In western Europe, on the other hand, growth has remained moderate and the labour market situation poor. In central Europe the pace of economic growth has remained high. |
