| Tiivistelmä: | The United States faces new challenges in a world that has grown more competitive and more democratic. It is shown how to operate in this different world; what the main worldwide economic changes are and the importance of monetary policy is emphasized. The largest problems of the USA economic policy (huge fiscal deficit, agenda with GATT) are analyzed. The conclusion is drawn that the USA no longer dominates in the world economy. The new situation requires a new economic policy. |
