| Tiivistelmä: | This article is addressed primarily to investors and to companies and their legal counsel, explaining the rights and remedies available under the Treaty. The article concentrates on the core obligations of the Treaty imposed on Member States concerning foreign investment. The study will focus on the main investment provisions but will also highlight the significance of other obligations when they are of relevance to foreign investment. The negotiating history and the energy and political contexts will be summarized. |
