Tiivistelmä: | Differential treatment of goods (and, increasingly, services) according to the country or customs territory of origin is a fact of life in international commerce. For example, imports from pariahs, such as North Korea, to the United States are subject to higher than most-favored-nation (MFN) tariffs and other measures aimed at restricting market access. Hence, rules of origin are a necessary component in determining whether or not MFN treatment is to be extended to imports. |
