| Tiivistelmä: | Since World War II the global economy has been put on a course towards multilateralism, though not without steps forwards and backwards. One significant step forward was the signing of the Uruguay Round Agreement (Ura) in 1994 by most developing and developed countries. It included the launch of the new World Trade Organization (WTO) with a much-enhanced power to settle trade policy disputes between nations through arbitration within a rule-based system. |
