| Tiivistelmä: | The history of literary forms combined with the insights provided by modern discourse theory make it possible to explain the changes individual literary forms have undergone throughout history. This, however, doesn't apply to literatures which have developed in a 'colonial situation'. The article provides a special 'colonial norm' for such descriptions and applies it to the Quebecois novel. |
