| Tiivistelmä: | The article reviews the major typologies put forward by clinical researchers to account for the various types of aphasic impairments. At both semiological and terminological levels such typologies proved to be heterogeneous and misleading. To avoid confusion the author offers guidelines for a taxonomy of the aphasias based upon general linguistics. |
