| Tiivistelmä: | The author offers a definition of the concept of narrativity and compares the status of the cinema with that of written narratives. The article proves that contemporary research uses the concept of mimesis as it is found in Plato and the concept of diegesis as borrowed from Aristotle. An attempt is made to show how the film narrative implies a dialectical combination of these two principles as opposed to other narratives. |
