| Tiivistelmä: | Corporate benefits programs were originally designed for a stable, male work force with uniform needs. But male wage earners with stay-at-home wives now make up less than 20 percent of the workforce. As women, dual earning couples, single parents, and older workers increasingly dominate the labour force, traditional benefits programs have become outdated. To suit the needs of this new, diverse work force, companies are turning to flexible benefits plans, sometimes called cafeteria compensation, which give employees the option of selecting benefits from a menu of choices to supplement their basic medical coverage. |
