| Tiivistelmä: | A few years ago Churchfields High School was facing closure. Now it has turned around as the school profitably courted industry. Now adult education, teaching courses for the unemployed and skills training are going on in some of its buildings. Headmaster E. Smith has attempted to introduce three major programmes: first, to integrate the school more closely with local communities; second, to give the school a more coherent management structure; and last, to involve more local companies with the school. A school-industry liaison committee was established. A scheme called Industrial Tutors emerged, where local managers share lessons with school teachers. |
