| Tiivistelmä: | This article addresses four main issues. First, the economic importance of infrastructure is outlined in both non-spatial and spatial contexts. Second , the major infrastructure projects are discussed which are under various stages of development at the moment in Europe. Third, the ways these have been assessed and the problems with the evaluations which have been carried out are examined. Fourth, ways in which the appropriate development of infrastructure could be used as part of regional policy in the EC is examined. |
