| Tiivistelmä: | This section of the Annual Review assesses the main developments in the Member States that had implications for the EU. Three developments had particular significance in 1993. National elections were held in France, Greece and Spain. Belgium and Italy grappled with profound changes in their state structures and political systems. The Maastricht ratification crisis continued to bedevil the Danish and British governments, and the Community as a whole had to await the outcome of the German Constitutional Court's decision of October. |
