| Tiivistelmä: | International economic linkages and interrelationships are more and more referred to as "globalization". Similarly, international direct investments do often appear under the heading of "global investment strategies". Some of the driving forces of internationalization in the business world are identified and analyzed. The phenomenon of internationalization in the field of services is examined. The trends of international direct investments over the period from 1980 to 1991 are described using statistical tables. A new type of American challenge is diagnosed. Special attention is paid on direct investments in the European internal market. The share of developing countries in international direct investments decreased considerably. |
