| Tiivistelmä: | Development of the legal framework for foreign investment by Korean firms and the present regulatory and approval system is discussed. Recent development in Korea's direct investment in socialist countries, approval system and prospects are analyzed. Korea's economic relations with the socialist states are expected to improve. Support system for foreign investment, tax incentives, intergovernmental agreements on investment protection are highlighted. Financial institutions and foreign investment insurance are discussed and the need for improvement is concluded. Korea is reassessing its strategies for future economic development, intends to lift restrictions on foreign exchange transactions. This can contribute to the rapid development of the Korean economy. |
