Tiivistelmä:To support increasingly high data traffic in the information age, it is a requirement for any network to provide some form of control to prevent serious degradation in performance. Generally, it is not possible to simultaneously optimize network performance measures such as throughput and time delay. Hence , any control must address this tradeoff between the throughput and time delay. The authors describe a model and provide an optimal solution for maximizing the mean system throughput while maintaining a bound on the mean system delay.
