| Tiivistelmä: | Since the State Council decided to raise the purchasing prices of grain by a large margin, beginning on June 10, 1994 , there has been a larger fluctuation in selling prices of grain between regions. In the eastern coastal areas where the price level is relatively higher, the upward trend of grain prices is relatively mild. In Xiamen and Shenzhen, for example, the prices rose by 3.9% and 5.6% respectively over the last month. On the contrary, in the inland areas, the upward trend of grain prices is strong. In Yinchuan and Wulumuqi, for instance, the prices grew by 18.2% and 35.8% respectively over the last month. The undue rise in the prices of the products related to grain has had greater influence on the families with low income. |
