| Tiivistelmä: | The first joint meeting of all EFTA and EC countries' ministers in 1984 is described as the starting point of intensified cooperation. The role of the Luxembourg Declaration in the economic integration of Western Europe is outlined. A short historic overview of EFTA-EC relations is given. The follow-up work based on the Luxembourg and Visby Declarations is discussed. The most tangible results are listed. Problems and open questions of the integration are analyzed. The future tasks in EFTA-EC cooperation are summarized.These relations are described as daily tests for western integration and cooperation. |
