| Tiivistelmä: | Our increasing dependence on technology has contributed to the recent rash of financial mismanagement scandals. The paper investigates whether it could be also used to help prevent them. The business trend towards globalisation coincided with increased reliance information and communications tech (ICT). Although the former has not been entirely dependent on the latter the two have developed a symbiotic relationship that helped fuel some of the recent financial mismanagement scandals. The paper also states that the post-acquisition consolidation is necessarily manipulative, with figures being massaged even if it's only so that they can be provided in a particular format. |
