Tiivistelmä:Globalization is a key concept in the modern competitive markets. Hence, virtual enterprise approach and a holistic view of a company's supply chain come into play. There is the need for Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Business-to-Business (B2B) integration and interoperability in btw. the intra- and trans-enterprise heterogeneous information systems (IS). In this paper, it is suggested how the increasingly important role of South and East Asian markets in the era of globalization can be amplified by the use of the latest EAI technologies facilitating the bonding of even the most diverse IS. In turn, European markets adopting such technologies can benefit relationships with their South and East Asian counterparts.
