Tiivistelmä:According to Milan Zeleny, Herbert Simon has a paradoxical distrust of human reason which he labelled as 'bounded' while at the same time he had an unbounded, unlimited trust in the capacity of computers. Thus, H. Simon does not present an alternative concept of rationality (here as: rty,), staying trapped in the concept of complete rty., positing a machine (computer) in the ghost (the mind). This paper aims at exploring the metaphor of the mind as a computer or computation, discussing some of its development, roots, underlying assumptions, and blind spots, and also some alternative conceptions (as: cnsns.) of rty. In a man-made world dominated by information and communication technology (ICT), metaphors, cnsns. and models of the mind as well as those of computation shape ... the very life lead by us. System designers and users alike should be sensitive to these models, cnsns. and metaphors.
