| Tiivistelmä: | The article examines the application of duties to countervail the effects of subsidies on competing procedures in importing markets. An important distinction is drawn between domestic and export subsidies as they alter the pattern of trade in different ways. The difference is demonstrated geometrically dividing the markets into domestic and export market. Domestic subsidies generally have less impact on export markets than do direct export subsidies. Implications derived from the analysis are discussed. It is emphasized that the formal implementation of comparative static analysis for injury determination should incorporate the factors identified in this article. |
