| Tiivistelmä: | In 1999, China's foreign trade is facing a harder situation than last year. In later half of this year, Asian economy may get recovered step-by-step. But China will have even heavier pressure in export and attraction of foreign investment. A decline has been seen in total export value and foreign investment. Trade surplus has been nearly $8 billion, much lesser than last year. The accounts for that include the weakened advantage of low processing cost in coastal area and the more conspicuous problems of the inner system and structure. The policy changes in processing trade have had certain negative impact. To solve the problems, the policies for bonded processing trade and no-levy nor return of VAT should be maintained stable. The export credit and insurance need to be standard. |
