| Tiivistelmä: | This paper summarizes and reviews the research on groups and teams in organizational settings, and focuses on studies in which the dependent variables are concerned with various dimensions of effectiveness. A framework illustrating trends in the literature depicts team effectiveness as a function of group, task and organization design factors, environment factor, external and internal processes, and group psychosocial traits. Work, parallel, project, and management type of teams are discussed. The paper concludes by comparing the variables studied for the different types of teams, highlighting the progress, suggesting what needs to be done and summarizing key learnings from the last six years. |
