| Tiivistelmä: | Based on data from an admission reform of the Swedish upper secondary schools in Stockholm, this study evaluates the effects of school choice on segregation (henceforth as: segrn). Starting from 2000, the students have been able to apply to any school within Stockholm, the admission decisions being based on grades only. As expected, the new admission policy increased segrn. by ability. However, segrn. by family background, and particularly segrn. btw. immigrants and natives, also increased significantly. |
