Tiivistelmä: | Some of the conventional reasons of why organizations really do need strategies are reviewed and commented: setting direction (but examples show that sometimes a good strategy can blind an organization to manage its day-to-day operations); focusing effort (but with the risk of being unable to change strategy when it is necessary); defining the organization (with a shorthand way to understand it and differentiate it from others, conveying the danger of oversimplification); providing consistency (to block out the unexpected, making strategy a force that resists change, not encourages it). The danger is in omitting change however necessary it would be. |
