Tiivistelmä:This article examines the possibility of compensating a poor corporate ability (CA) with a good corporate social responsibility (CSR), and vice versa by running an empirical experiment among business administration students. Participants reported their preferences for a financial services company's products, stocks and jobs when given the company's CA and CSR performance. The authors find that poor CSR can be compensated by a good CA for all preferences, and poor CA can be compensated by a good CSR for stock and job preferences. For product preferences the results depend on the product's relevance to the participants.
