| Tiivistelmä: | Computerization creates the potential of using information to enhance scheduling decisions. However, there is limited research about how to most effectively use this information to improve shop scheduling decisions. The value of the improved decision must exceed the cost of making the improved decision. This paper analyses the value of different sources of information in shopfloor control decisions, classifies the sources and types of information available in the DRC job shop, and develops alternative procedures to use the information in shopfloor scheduling decisions. |
