| Tiivistelmä: | This article assesses jointly the roles of risk attitude and tolerance for ambiguity in predicting choice, by examining the effects of the variables on decisions made in different scenarios. The treatment combinations were generated by manipulating ambiguity and risk into high and low levels, and the context was defined in terms a sample size selection problem. Also the effect of attitudes toward risk and ambiguity on decision confidence was investigated. The results indicate that risk attitude and ambiguity intolerance determined choice behavior; the roles of these attitudes depend on the treatment variable levels of risk and ambiguity; less risk averse decision makers who have tolerance for ambiguity display greater confidence in choice ; the presence of ambiguity accentuates the perception of risk in individuals. |
