| Tiivistelmä: | Many surveys of schedule optimisation techniques have been reported, but unfortunately the vast array of scheduling methods available is very confusing. They often require complex customisation to meet the needs of a particular situation. Since the late 1980's there has been a growing interest in genetic algorithms (GA's) based on the principles of natural (Darwinian) evolution. Such algorithms have been used widely for parameter optimisation, classification and learning. More recently, production scheduling has emerged as an appropriate application. |
