| Tiivistelmä: | The recent renaissance of business cycle analysis has led to a renewed interest in business cycle classification as pioneered by Burns and Mitchell, Spiethoff and others in the early 1950s and resumed in the 1970s by Meyer and Weinberg. The rather successful elaboration and test of a "modern" four phase classification scheme for the United States and West Germany by Meyer and Weinberg motivated the present authors to develop a similar classification scheme for West Germany. |
