Tiivistelmä:This article starts from the argument that organizational politics provide an opportunity to examining professional women's experiences of organizations as gendered. Women professionals working in male-dominated organizations view organizational politics as masculine and find it an obstacle to their careers despite their lack of experiences of explicit discrimination. According to women's accounts on gendered organizations, women focus on emotion in men's political game playing. It was also found that ambitious women find it uncomfortable to be rational and to reject political games while being aware of the importance of politics in individual career development. In conclusion, the accounts reveal that organizational political processes are fundamental to gender in organizations.
