| Tiivistelmä: | Theoretically, computers and software programs, are business tools which can be used, for example, to reduce costs, create stronger linkages with customers, innovate, and facilitate niche marketing. Such advanced use has not generally been found in practice in smaller businesses. A number of barriers exist to creating enterprise development opportunities from IT. These relate both to the structure of the IT sector, the relationships between different actors in the process of IT adoption and the lack of skills and knowledge of these actors. |
