Tiivistelmä:The report deals with the market of beer in Italy. Since 1987 volume sales have fluctuated at around 1.3 billions litres. Value sales of beer estimated at L3,645 billion in 1991. Normal beers (containing 3% alcohol by volume) constitute the largest market sector accounting for 88.5% of volume sales. The market of beer remains the smallest of the major European markets with per capita consumption of just 23 litres per year. (Per capita consumption in France is 40 litres, whilst in the UK it amounts to 107 litres. Major suppliers are Peroni and Dreher which dominate the Italian beer market with an aggregate share of 58.7%. Detailed statistics on production, consumption, market structure, imports and exports of beer are presented.
