Tiivistelmä:Increasing sales of imported products in the United States (USA) have influenced on the employment of many American workers. This has lead labour unions and other industry groups to promote a "Buy American" theme to American consumers. The article presents a study which developed a model to examine American consumers' purchase of domestic products over foreign commercial products. There are also presented: What the model comprised of, influence of the social context on consumers' purchase-related behaviours, description of the methodology used in the study, and implications of the findings for marketing strategy.
