| Tiivistelmä: | Since the beginning of this year the world economy has been characterized by slight upward tendencies in Northern America. Due to expansionary economic policies a sustained increase of demand can be excepted in the USA; however, the long-run restrictive effects of high consumer and business indeptedness will probably hamper the growth momentum compared to earlier recoveries. The impulses will be seen first of all in residential construction, but low interest rates and improving profit expectations will in due course also stimulate the propensity to invest in the business sector. Real gross domestic product should rise faster in the further course of this year; in 1992 it will be about 2 p.c. higher than in 1991. |
