| Tiivistelmä: | The retarding influences which hindered the recovery in the USA from gaining steam presumably will remain distinct for some time. On the other hand, the impulses stemming from the expansionary monetary policy became even stronger in the course of the year. Residential construction should be fostered by the interest rate decreases, as well as business investment. Private consumption on the other hand will get little impulse from the somewhat faster expansion of incomes; the propensity to consume; however, will rise only moderately as for the high indebtedness of private households. Real government purchases also will rise but moderately due to efforts for restricting the budget deficit. |
