Tiivistelmä:A comparative analysis of projects of telework in IBM, the printing industry and the insurance industry shows that the organizational context is of crucial importance for work design and organization of telework. Several aspects play an important role for the successful implementation of tele- working such as the suitability of tasks for teleworking, the conditions and consequences of the utilization of infor- mation and communication, leadership and control, organiza- tional identification and involvement as well as factors influencing the acceptance of teleworking. It also becomes apparent that the realization of telework promotes well- known entrepreneurial strategies of decentralization, compu- ter support or cost-effective opening of new labour markets. The article discusses where the productive potential of telework lies (original in German).
