Tiivistelmä: | The last weeks of a "lame duck" employee can be productive and harmonious or, if mismanaged, unproductive for the company and disruptive for the remaining employees. The best results are usually achieved if both the company and the employee follow previously stated and understood guidelines which, in turn, reflect the various sensitivities involved. Developing a policy regarding employee job change and exit requires that management take the following steps: 1. create an environment for effectively managing job change; 2. adopt a social systems perspective; 3. adopt techniques and procedures to ensure the work continues with the appropriate quality and efficiency. The policy must also be communicated and accepted by the employees. |
