Tiivistelmä:Meta-analytic procedures designed to estimate direction and magnitude of correlation between turnover and performance were applied to the group of coefficients in order to determine quantitively the present state of knowledge about above relationship. The cumulation of studies indicate that good performers are significiantly less likely to leave an organization than are poor performers. Large unexplained standard deviations remain upon correction for sampling errors and attenuation in the performance measure. Support is found for further positive moderators, namely the type of turnover, time span of measurement, and level of unemployment. Subgroup analyses suggest that confound in meta-analyses may have important effects in some situations.
