| Tiivistelmä: | The problem of task revision is addressed, an important dependent variable that previous research literature on work performance has not adequately addressed. The results from the experiments constructed to measure task revision and test for its determinants have some broad implications for the performance literature. Facilitators of task revision are the salience of alternatives and being in a supervisory position with accountability pressures. The implications of these results are discussed in terms of the functions of counter-role behaviour for organizations. |
