Tiivistelmä:Though a lot of studies dealing with organizational and performance-related succession effects do exist, almost nothing is known about the relationship between frequency of succession and the evolution of the respective firms in an explicit longitudinal context. Therefore this paper tries to show how a specific framework can be created by combining basic results of the aforementioned short term studies and how this framework can be tested by using an empirical longitudinal survey of large German firms. The results show that both frequency of successions and the disruptive force of successions - measured as a combination of succession frequency and the recruitment characteristics.
