Tiivistelmä:This paper aims at examining the human resource management (HRM) performance causal relationship in the Greek context. Based on a sample of nearly 180 organizations in the Greek manufacturing sector and using structural equation modelling, it is found among others that the ability to perform, motivation to perform, and opportunity to perform HRM policy domains (here as: p-dm/s.) are moderated by business strategies. Moreover, the motivation to perform is further moderated by managerial style and organisational culture. It is concluded that despite the motivation to perform HRM p-dm/s. causes organizational performance (here as: o-perf.) through employee attitudes, it might be supported that o-perf. moderates positively the effectiveness of the HRM p-dm/s., thus raising the question of reverse causality.
