| Tiivistelmä: | Amsterdam's Postbank was created from a merger of Postgiro and the national savings bank Rijkspostspaarbank. It is a limited-liability company with all shares in government hands. Perhaps in three year it will be privatized. Until then the bank acts like a private institution but has to be a public utility for payments clearing. The bank founds its hopes on automation. Meanwhile the leadership must eliminate the civil-servant atmosphere (with total job security and lack of market pressure). |
