| Tiivistelmä: | The conclusion to be drawn from this paper is that quality, even when it can be satisfactorily defined, isn't an adequate method for measuring system performance. A more direct and fruitful way of tackling this problem needs to be devised by concentrating on performance attributes compared with standard specifications. The former would relate to how a given system actually performs, whereas the latter - based on a thorough understanding of the needs of the business and on what similar systems have achieved elsewhere - would delineate a series of expectations of performance. |
