Tiivistelmä:The aim is to examine trade union representatives' perceptions of the implementation of the key provisions of the Safety Representatives and Safety Committees Regulations /SRSC, 1977/. As a result of SRSC, large number of trade union workplace representatives now have statutory rights in regulating health and safety at the workplace. The sample was chosen from one branch of the National Graphical Association. Workplace size and arrangement for health and safety. The role of the Joint Safety Committee is limited to be a forum for information exchange. The role of the representative is based on a collective bargaining model. The SRSC impact is diminished by the erosion of the trade union power.
