| Tiivistelmä: | The implementation of a strategic planning process in printing business is described. A review of the operational control mechanisms is presented. It is shown that traditional approaches to operational and strategic planning are inadequate and provide little help or guidance. This led to the development of a process where an ongoing operations and strategy review were integrated. This is called the Triple-A concept: awareness - problem focus and management attention; audit PIMS and competitors; action - short - and long-term. A PIMS audit carried out on 70 strategic business units is explored and a subsequent portfolio review is discussed. The integration of planning and control methodologies into a systematic process is suggested. |
