Tiivistelmä:This article deals with the issue of outsourcing recruiting and selection of human resources. Based on efficiency drivers, transaction cost economy and competitive motivations, the article introduces a predictive model, which has been tested on a random sample of 276 Italian medium and large-sized firms. The results of the study indicate that the structuring of recruiting and selection of personnel involves complex decision-making, which must take into account not only operating issues but strategic issues as well. Efficiency motivations are found to be particularly weighty when decisions about outsourcing administrative recruitment and selection practices are made. The strategic dimension of recruitment and selection places more importance on the competitive issues.
