Tiivistelmä:The paper portrays a systematic approach for estimating the economic value of selection activities in money terms which can easily be extended to other human resource programs. The proposed method for modelling the economic utilities of selection/human resource programs represents an important step towards improving the instrumental foundations of a comprehensive personnel controlling system. The case study of a chemical firm reveals a significant payoff per hire resulting from a substitution of traditional selection interviews by assessment centres. The field example helps to highlight how model data can be obtained and how the overall analysis process can be managed.
